Every time you log a wine and rate it, Palatora maps your preferences across key dimensions — how much you like sweetness vs. dryness, bold vs. light body, high vs. soft acidity, oaky vs. clean flavors, and which grapes and regions you gravitate toward. Think of it as building a fingerprint of your taste, one wine at a time.

How Recommendations Get Smarter
Palatora uses two systems working together. First, when you rank wines head-to-head — like "do I prefer this Pinot Noir or this Malbec?" — it builds a ranking of what you actually enjoy, not what you think you enjoy. Second, it analyzes your tasting notes and ratings to understand the why behind your preferences. Together, these create recommendations that improve with every bottle you log.

How Many Wines Does It Take?
After your first 4 wines (the guided tasting), Palatora has a starting sketch of your palate. After about 10 wines across different styles — reds, whites, different grapes and regions — your profile becomes reliable and recommendations get noticeably better.
If you tend to drink the same type of wine, it takes closer to 15–20 bottles before the system has enough signal. It caps how much influence any single grape has so it doesn't over-index on one style. The more variety you log, the faster your profile sharpens.
